Sac-Town, Pack Town:
Fun things to do in Sacramento this summer
Summer in Sacramento is almost among us! Last year, many citizens did not enjoy the traditional jam-packed summers in Sacramento due to COVID-19. This year, outside is (mostly) open for business. The Sacramento economy is back hustling and bustling! There is a bevy of fun things to do this summer in Sacramento. Furthermore, it’s even better when you’re having fun in Sacramento with your best buds.
Justin Bieber World Tour
Ok, ok, hear us out: it’s a Justin Bieber concert. We know. However, can you recall a concert you attended with your ‘best buds’ and didn’t have a grand old time? The Justin Bieber World Tour was originally scheduled to take place last summer. However, the COVID-19 Pandemic brought live music to a screeching halt. Umpteen-Platinum musician Justin Bieber headlines the tour. The legend (we feel old saying that) is set to perform a slew of classics and some hits from his recent project. The Justin Bieber World Tour is scheduled to take place on August 15th. The World Tour will be held at the Golden 1 Center.
Sad Summer Festival ‘21
If you can’t wait to ‘Bielebe’ at the Golden 1 Center with Just Bieber, then the Sad Summer Festival has you covered. Sad Summer Fest is a traveling festival that COVID-19 derailed. This time, the summers are about to get a whole lot sadder (in a good way.) This year’s lineup features bands such as Movement, The Story So Far, All Time Low, The Maine, Greyscale, and of course: the Destroy Boys. It is the Sad Summer Fest, after all. The Sad Summer Fest is presented by Journeys, which alludes to the genre of music embodied at the festival. Sad Summer Fest will take place on August 6 at Heart Health Park. Sad Summer Fest was initially scheduled to take place a month before July. This gives concertgoers a chance to get their necessary concert kits together (more on that at the end.)
Sacramento Seafood and Soul Food Festival
If live tunes are not your thing, how about some food? Better yet: how about some Mama's cookin’? The Sacramento Seafood and Soul Food Festival is virtually self-explanatory. The festival will host vendors embodying a multitude of seafood and soul food dishes. The Sacramento Seafood and Soul Food Festival will also host live R&B and Blues from local artists! This is undoubtedly an event worth attending with your pals The Sacramento Seafood and Soul Food Festival is set to take place on July 3rd at Miller Regional Park.
Crawfish & Catfish Festival
If you and your crew are unable to attend the Seafood and Soul Food Festival, you can get a similar experience in September. The Crawfish & Catfish Festival is coming to Sacramento this summer! This festival keeps it simple, just crawfish and catfish alongside fitting side dishes. This is an event worth attending with your best buds. The Crawfish & Catfish Festival is set to take place on September 18th at Southside Park.
How to remain safe in Sacramento this summer
The aforementioned events scheduled this summer in Sacramento are just a sliver of the events to come. However, it is crucial that concert-goers and attendees abide by the health and safety protocols outlined by their locale. Although the economy is once again up and running, we are not out of the woods yet. COVID-19 is still a major concern. Additionally, vaccination and brand vaccination has become a debate. Despite one’s philosophy on the aforementioned issues, be sure to continue to practice healthy and hygienic habits in social settings.
